Why Jewel wrote Teddy Bear Princess

Teddy Bear Princess

Teddy Bear Princess

Once upon a time, my nickname was “Teddy Bear.” Actually, it wasn’t too long ago that I was labeled this. In fact, it was just two years ago! My husband, Alan, gave me this name while were dating. As silly as it sounds, he still calls me his “cuddly, wuddly Teddy Bear.”

At first, I used to get annoyed. But, then, my imagination kicked in. I started to pretend that I was a Teddy Bear P-r-i-n-c-e-s-s. LOL.

Ever so slowly, a story book character began to form in my head. And, guess what? She had the same name: Teddy Bear Princess. However, her life is far more exciting.

She lives in a beautiful castle. She has all sorts of gorgeous crowns and gowns. To take the cake, she flies sky-high with her best friend, Zumba. He’s a unicorn with morals that can’t be beat.

This story was challenging to write as I wanted it to be accessible to the very young. It took some time to pen, but I finally got it right.

While I may never be the Teddy Bear Princess, I can live her experiences through this glorious naptime story book. And, believe me, I get Alan to read it to me all the time!

Love,

Jewel (a.k.a. Teddy Bear)
